In 1978, New York City artists Sandy Chilewich and Kathy Moskalwere looking to infuse some color into their wardrobes. When they started hand-dying plain satin flats in a rainbow of jewel tones, friends and family began to demand their own pairs, and was born. With a featured spread in Vogue and a debut at iconic luxury department store Henri Bendel, quickly established itself as an authority on color that transforms.
Since that very first launch, has been dedicated to making getting dressed more expressive and uplifting. Nearly fifty years later, with decades of ingenuity in legwear, sleepwear, leggings, tops and bottoms, swimwear, shoes, and slippers under our belt, we continue to reinvent through vibrant design from head to toe, elevating the everyday ritual of dressing into a creative act.
